The Dumbo Branch of the New York Library experiments with planes of focus to create contiguity in divergent spaces - framing both city and library moments with converging and diverging walls. The circulation constantly reorients the visitor, exposing them to multiple activities within the library and the city. The effect is an unanticipated proximity and distance – to the social and urban contexts around.
