A childcare facility and business center - built on a Community Land Trust site in Jackson Heights, Queens - expands the possibility of community development. The project aims to maintain affordability, activity, support and growth by weaving public, private and community space. A system of intersecting modules, inspired by the robust awnings that dominate the commercial corridor, create a diagonal procession through spaces with different types of performance and play involved.
